Cleaner air and energy more available

Reinforcing energy supplies security and diminishing negative impact on the environment: these are some of the effects of modernisation of two heating plants of Szczecińska Energetyka Cieplna (SEC) – “Dąbska” heating plant on the right-hand side of the river and the “Marlicza” heating plant in Zawadzkiego residential development in Szczecin. Both plants will become cogeneration sources, which means that during one process, heat and electrical energy will be generated simultaneously. Cogeneration is an environmentally friendly technology, supported by the European Union. It makes is possible to use primary energy more efficiently than in an independent production process and reduces emissions of harmful substances such as carbon dioxide (CO2), sulphur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOX).
Works in both plants will commence in 2021.
