Meter verification – let us handle it

Enjoy heat without additional responsibilities – join the Heat Meter Takeover Programme

With a focus on the comfort and convenience of our customers, Szczecińska Energetyka Cieplna is implementing the Heat Meter Takeover Programme. We offer you the opportunity to transfer responsibility for the verification, servicing and replacement of heat meters to us. This solution eliminates the formal and financial obligations associated with meter management, while ensuring reliable billing and the continuity of the heating system.

Why are we introducing this programme?

Many customers, despite statutory obligations, did not have their heat meters re-verified within the required period within the required timeframe. This led to billing issues for entire housing communities and the need to apply less favourable billing methods.
To ensure consistency, safety and comfort for all our customers, we are introducing a system-based solution: the transfer of meters into SEC’s ownership, together with full responsibility for their operation.

How does it work?

Once the relevant annex to the comprehensive supply agreement has been signed, the meter becomes the property of SEC. From that point on, all responsibilities related to servicing, certification and any replacement of the device are transferred to our company. The customer no longer bears the risk arising from delays in meter verification and does not need to plan high one-off expenses related to meter replacement (in some cases as much as PLN 1,500–1,700).

Customer benefits

Joining the Heat Meter Takeover Programme offers a range of benefits:

Convenience
no need to deal with legal and technical matters.

Assurance
always-valid verification of metering devices.

Predictability of costs
instead of large, irregular expenses – a fixed, small monthly fee.

Security of billing
based on actual heat consumption.

Programme costs and billing method

Under the programme, the cost of taking over and maintaining the meters is included in the customer service charge, without creating a new, separate line item on the invoice. This follows directly from the provisions of the Energy Law, which define the scope of the customer service charge.
The programme costs are spread over time and are included in the monthly “Customer Service Charge”, amounting on average to a dozen or so PLN per month, depending on the contracted heat capacity.

Process of joining the Programme

Joining the Programme requires signing an annex to the existing comprehensive agreement. We enable this process to be completed in a convenient way:

  • electronic signing,
  • in-person signing at the Customer Service Office,
  • signing by post.

From the moment the documents are signed, all responsibilities are transferred to SEC and the customer does not need to take any further action.
In the case of multi-unit properties, the solution will be agreed with building managers or housing communities.

Gain comfort, security and clear billing – with no additional responsibilities.
